Holiday Draw - last few places available for 2016-17

Holiday Draw - last few places available for 2016-17Draws can be fun. Especially when there’s a holiday involved.

Draws can be fun. Especially when there’s a holiday involved. Like Boxing Day in 1992 when, late in the game, Eric prodded the ball home at the Leppings Lane end at Hillsborough to cap a swashbuckling second half comeback by United from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Sheffield Wednesday. That was fun. And so was that night in April 2014 when a raucous Gigg Lane erupted as FC United came back from two-nil down against title rivals Chorley to draw 2-2 in a feverish last ten minutes. What a goon that was, limbs all over the shop, as Tom Greaves belted home the equaliser, with only a few minutes left, in front of a delirious MRE. Okay, so the keen-eyed diarists amongst you will no doubt recall that the latter wasn’t on a holiday but, hey, it was only a few-ish days before Easter so we’ll file it under “memorable holiday draws???.

Anyway, the holiday draw that should be top of all our lists, of course, is the FC United Holiday Draw which is about to begin its ninth year of simultaneously raising a few bob for our football club whilst sending some lucky people off on trips to exotic destinations. All entrants in the Holiday Draw get the chance to win a monthly prize of £1,000 worth of Co-operative Travel holiday vouchers or an annual mega-prize of £5,000 of Co-operative travel holiday vouchers. Since it kicked off way back in our first season in the Northern Premier League Premier Division in 2008 the Holiday Draw has been extremely popular with some people winning more than once.

The Holiday Draw year runs from September to August the following year and the draw is made monthly and one month in arrears so, for example, the draw for September is held in October. The winner is announced online and via our usual communication channels but only after they have been contacted and confirmed that they are happy for their win to be publicised. The draw is limited to 250 entrants and there are still a few places left for 2016-17.

The entry fee is £10 per month and can be paid as follows;
Please note that the maximum number of entries per person is two and in order to qualify for the £5,000 annual draw you must have been in the draw the previous month and have not missed any payments. You cannot join the draw mid-year and the deadline for NEW entrants for the 2016-17 season is Friday 30th September 2016. Entrants currently paying by GoCardless or Standing Order need not make any changes in order to continue in the draw. Those entrants who prefer to pay annually will need to pay their £120 by Friday 30th September.

So imagine the lovely Tom-Greaves-late-equaliser-at-the-MRE-esque glow that will envelop you as your name is drawn out of the hat to win a thousand pounds worth of holiday vouchers whilst, at the same time, helping your football club out financially. Got to be worth a go hasn’t it?

Thanks to everyone that has taken part in the draw down the years. And the very best of luck to all this year’s entrants.
